Stapleton Dies at His Home In Jena Saturday John Wesley Stapleton, aged 73 years, 10 months and 20 days, died at his home here on Saturday, November 11, at 4:30 p.m. Mr. Stapleton was one of the pioneer citizens of the Belah community having lived there all his life and was known and beloved by practically everyone in that section. He was a member of the Baptist church at Fellowship. Funeral services for Mr. Stapleton were held Sunday, November 8 at Belah at 10 a.m. in charge of Rev. Wilson of Columbia. Interment was made in the cemetery at Belah, under direction of Kinner and Stevens, local funeral directors. Deceased is survived by four sons Elisha and Ben Stapleton of Jena and John henry and Will Stapleton of Columbia; four daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Windham, Mrs. Rena Sanders, Mrs. Maggie Sanders and Mrs. Inel Windham of Jena. His wife preceeded him in death several years ago.
