Ed Smith, Rev. Jerry Wilson and Rev. Joel Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinehill Cemetery in Urania with masonic rites under the direction of the Charles F. Buck Masonic Lodge officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Dr. Sanders was born in Riverton, La. on August 15, 1940 to the union of Dandridge and Ruby Wells Sanders and died Monday, January 26, 2004 in Urania from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was pastor of Kelly Baptist Church in Kelly for the past three years and an employee of Dresser Industries for many years. He was also a mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son: Gerry Sanders. Survivors include his wife of 44 years: Tommie Hopkins Sanders of Olla, his daughters: Veronica Schleuter of Pineville and Faye Sanders of Olla, his sons: Jerry Allen Sanders of Urania and Terry Sanders of Olla, his grandchildren: Jason Statham, Michael Statham, Heather Sanders, Ashley Sanders, Adam Sanders, Sierra Sanders and Alicia Sanders, his step-grandchildren: Chad Schleuter and Megan Mathews, his brother: Mearl Sanders of Oregon, his sister: Loice Williams of Alabama and a host of neices and nephews. Pallbearers will be J.C. Banes, Dickie Futrell, Shawn Kirkham, Ronnie Laird, Al Laird and Johnny Wilhite. Honorary pallbearers are Murl Snody, Smith Hopkins, Paul Pardue, Alvin Hudson, Jeff Kirkham, Tom Blalock and Jim Avery. All visitation will be at the Standard Baptist Church in Olla after ll a.m., Friday, January 30, 2004
