Patrick Thompson, Sr. 58, of Jena, died Monday, December 8, 1997, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was pastor of Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Jena and a veteran of the U.S.Air Force. He was born February 4, 1939, in Olla to the union of Wilburn and Lucille Gate Thompson. Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Jena with the Revs. Doug Fulenwider and Anthony Marquize officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Domanque Thompson of Jena; one daughter, Stacey Ciraulo of Monroe; three sons, Eddie Patrick Thompson of Urania, Neil Jerome Thompson of Olla and Patrick "Packy" Thompson, Jr. of Jena; two sisters Betty Williams and Vicki Allen both of Jena; three brothers, Tommy Thompson of Houma, Mike Thompson of Monroe and Kelly Thompson of New Iberia; five grand- children. Pallbearers were Tony Owens, Howard Chapman, Curtis Gilcrease, Joe Jones, Kenneth McEntyre, Doug Campbell, Joey Harville and Curtis Alvin. (The Jena Times, Wednesday, December 17, 1997)
