Turnley, 86, of Trout, died at 12:15 a.m., Monday, March 30, 1998, at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. She was a retired lunchroom worker in the LaSalle Parish School System and a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. She was born October 3, 1911, in Catahoula Parish to the union of Claborne Lee and Lou Anna Stringer Ganey. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Rick Feazell officiating. Interment followed in the Chalk Hill Cemetery of Little Creek under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include two sisters, Gladys McDowell of Trout and Lena Hall of Walker; one brother, Ira Ganey of Tullos. Pallbearers were Reggie Loe, Grayson Walpole, Bradley McDowell, Lyle Ganey, Earl Brooks and W. B. McCartney, Jr. (The Jena Times, Wednesday, April 1, 1998)
