She was a retired sales clerk with Doughty's Department Store in Jena and a member of Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church in Jena. She was born May 11, 1910 at Jena to the union of Marvin and Susie Allen. Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 9, at Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church of Jena with Chris Blanchard officiating. Burial at Nolley Cemetery was under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include one daughter, Marlene Morgan of Gonzales; one son, Donald G. Taylor of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Minnie Lou Manchester, Sue Brooks, Ava Morgan, and Jerry Williams, all of Jena and Ruth Owens of Richardson, Texas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott Taylor, Jamie Morgan, Justin Morgan, Gene Taylor, Von Taylor, and Harland Morgan.
