Billy Mixon Thornton

Billy Mixon Thornton, 70, of Urania, died Friday, September 11, 1998, at the
Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria following an extended illness.

He was a retired procurement reforester with Louisiana-Pacific Corporation of
Urania. He was born June 21, 1928 at Urania to the union of Will E. and Mable
Fouts Thornton.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 13, at the Olla chapel of
Riser Funeral Home with the Revs. Elzie R. Johnson and Joe Thornton
officiating.

Interment followed in the Pinehill Cemetery of Urania under direction of Riser
Funeral Home of Olla.

Survivors include one sister, Francille Shultz of Urania; four brothers, Rev.
Joe Thornton, W. M. "Dub" Thornton and Randy Thornton, all of Urania, and
Melvin Thornton of Olla; four nieces, seven nephews, and a host of great
nieces and nephews.
