Taylor (caption under photo) Rites for former CSLI manager set U. V. Taylor, 63, a long time business manager for Central State Life Insurance Co. in Jena, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 22, 1990 at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. Taylor served as manager of Portiers Hardware in Olla for 12 years before joining The LaSalle State Bank at Tullos where he served for the next five years. For the past 30 years, he was associated with Central State Life Insurance Company, many of the last years as manager of the Jena office. He was a member and served as treasurer at Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church for 17 years. He was also a U. S. Navy veteran of World Was II. Services were scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church of Jena, with Rev. Paul Carroll, officiating. Burial will follow in Jena cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Airlea Coleman Taylor of Jena; a son, Charles Taylor of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Charlotte Kaye Dietzel of Berwick, and Roxanne Welch of Midland, Texas; a sister, Ozelle Taylor of Ball; his mother, Myrtle of Ball; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers wil be Cedric Windham, Cliff Williams, Keith Tarver, Tommy Wright, Curt Taylor and Dozier Norris. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Baker Sunday School Class of Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church.
