Thomas, 75, of Jena, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, September 2, 1990 at his residence on East Southern Avenue in Jena. He was a self-employed janitor, member of the Baptist faith and retired from the U.S. Marines. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Bill Robertson, P.A. Paul and Larry Chapman, officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Cemetery of Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Jean A. Thomas of Chicope, Mass.; a step-son, Shawn M. Matthews of Chicopoe, Mass.; and a sister, Mrs. Willie L. Poole of Jena. Pallbearers were Larry Henry, Buddy Henry, Bobby Thomas, Tommy Fairbanks, Ray Vail and O.G. Bell.
