Tarver, Jr., 69, of Jena will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 1991 at the Nolley Memorial United Church with Rev. Paul Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home. Tarver dies Tuesday, January 15th in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital of Alexandria following an extended illness. He was a Naval veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Louisiana Power & Light. He was a member of the Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church were he had served on the church's administrative board and was active in the United Methodist men's Club and the Baker Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Tarver; two sons, Keith Tarver of Jena and Dennis Tarver of Shreveport; two daughters, Dianne Tarver Smith of Alexandria and Sherri Goolsby of Jackson, Miss.; his mother, Marie Tarver of Jena; one sister, Audrey Miles of Jena; two brothers, Donald Tarver of Jena and David Tarver of Mandeville; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Scott Tarver of Jena, Devon Goolsby of Jackson, Miss., Sarah DeBock of Shreveport; and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial may be made to Nolley United Methodist Church of to the American Heart Association.
