Born November 24, 1897 in Catahoula Parish to Edward Nugent and Pinkie Dickens Nugent, she was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Willard Norris officiating. Burial followed at Hurricane Creek Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include three daughters, Odie Hanner, Ilene Holden and Margarette Thompson, all of Jena; four sons, Cecil Thompson and Gerald Thompson, both of Jena; Odis Thompson of Coushatta and Gene Thompson of Denham Springs; one sister, Pinkie Jameison of Deville; one brother, Dick Nugent of Deville; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ray Thompson, Tony Thompson, Douglas Thompson, Michael Thompson, Joey Thompson and Lane Hanner. Grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.
