Thacker, 72, of Bllomington, Texas, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, 1991, at Victoria Hospital in that city. He was a retired general foreman for Brown and Root from 1951 to 1982 and a resident of Bloomington since 1951. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and a life member of Port Lavaca VFW Post 4403. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9th at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ronald Grunke officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery of Bloomington. Survivors include his wife, Annie DeVille Thacker of Bloomington; two sons, Arnold Lee Thacker of Bloomington and Charles W. Thacker of Victoria, Texas; nine sisters, Jeffie Hickingbottom and Ruthie Masters, both of Monroe, Bessie Jones and Tiny Kirl, both of Jena; Naomi Treadwell, Genater Prince and Ethel Deville, all of Pineville; Helen Johnson of Simmesport and Faye McCaskill of Jonesville; and two granddaughters. Pallbearers were Thomas G. Wall, Marcus Lynn Wall, C.E. Adams Jr., Thomas Fisher, R.G. Wood and David Dworsky. Honorary pallbearers were Edgar A. Lanmon, James C. Ford, Dr. Don Wendt, Mike Phiel, all nephews and former Brown and Root co-workers.
