He was a roughneck in the oil field and veteran of World War II. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Aaron Paul Erwin, officiating. Interment followed at Thomas Cemetery in the Searcy community under direction of Kinner and Stevens Inc. Survivors include his mother, Janie C. Vinson of Searcy and a sister, Juanita King of Searcy. Pallbearers were Roger Whatley, L.D. Stringer, Larry Gulledge, Aubrey King Jr., Jim Hardy and Charles Boyd.
