Mr. Ward had been in ill health for some time, but on this particular day seemed to be in fine spirits and was in the yard feeding his chickens when he was stricken. He is survived by his wife, three brothers, H.T. Ward, of Jena; N.E. Ward, of Prescott, Ark., and E.M. Ward, of Emerson, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Theodosia McEachern, of Springhill, La.; three sons, Joe and Eugene Ward, of Jena, and Ed Ward of Pineville, and two daughters, Mrs. Lona Bond of Jena and Mrs. Belle Waters, of Shangaloo, La. John Henry Smith preaching the funeral sermon. The Times extends its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.
