She was a homemaker and a ceramics teacher and a member of the Summerville Free Methodist Church. She was born in Belah on May 13, 1917, to the union of Jesse and Henrietta Metnvin. Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home of Olla with Rev. John Spears officiating. Interment followed in the Summerville Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Survivors include four sons, James Whiddon, Clifford Whiddon and Raymond Whiddon, all of Shreveport and Frank Whiddon of Urania; three daughters, Juanita Tucker of Bossier City, Linda Blake of Delhi and Caroline Hixon of Columbia; one sister, Pearl Butler of Jena; 17 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
