She was a homemaker and was born before the turn of the century and 12 years before LaSalle Parish was officially created from part of Catahoula Parish in 1910. Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 30, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Johnny Lee Dayton and Huey Tarpley officiating. Interment followed in the Eden Cemetery of trout under direction of Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include one sister, Mae Whatley of Jena; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jim Justiss, Alan Dayton, Doug Finlay, Jim Morphis, Joe Pugh and Jack E. Skeen.
