He was a retired lumberman in the timber industry and a veteran of World War II. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Hixon Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Jerry Wilson and Rev. Walter Lloyd, officiating. Interment followed at Jena Cemetery under direction of Hixon Brothers Inc. of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Violet Wilson Warner of Harrisonburg; a step-son, Jimmy Ketchins of Arkansas; four step-daughters, Betty Pritcher of Olla, Lena Neal of Jonesvill, Ann Cermia and Ellen Trahan, both of Alexandria; a sister, Wilma L. Welch of Evansville, Ind.; and four nieces. Pallbearers were George G. Wright, Carroll E. Lawrence, Joe Holloway, John Wayne Allbritton, Robert M. Beech and Jimmy Wayne Ketchins.
