"Bill" Wilkes, 75, of Olla, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 1990, at his residence. He was a United Pentecostal Church minister, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was employed as a security guard with Louisiana Pacific Corp. in Urania. Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Murrell Ewing, officiating Burial followed in Harris Chapel Cemetery near Olla under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Susie Hal Wilkes of Olla; one daughter, Carol Howard of Olla; one sister, Ella Hickingbottom of Lake Charles; and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Tracey Howard, Jimmy Williams, Harold Stephens, William Wilkes, Harold Wilkes and Henry Wilkes.
