Wahtley, 19-month-old-son of DeWayne and Deon Whatley of Jena, died at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 1991 in new Orleans. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home with the Revs. Scott Wilson, Vernon Bradley and A.J. Kimball, officiating. Interment followed at Jena Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens Inc. Other survivors include a brother, Jacob C. "Jake-Jake" Whatley of Jena; paternal grandparents, Henry and Glenda Whatley of Jena; maternal grandparents, Mark and Martha Borden and Robert Dunn, all of Jonesville; great-grandparents, paternal, Elzie Smith and the late Bea Smith of jena; maternal, John and Emmie Boothe of Harrisonburg and Beulah Jones of Jonesville; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Elnora Robbins of Jena. Pallbearers were Dusty Kenney, Victor Kenney, James Crooks, Kirby Boothe, Floyd Whatley and Don Whatley.
