Whatley, 82, of Jena, died at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 1991, at the Rapides General hospital in Alexandria. She was a homemaker and member of the United Baptist Church of near Nebo. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with the Revs. Curtis Smith and Mack Walker, officiating. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. at New Forest Cemetery of Forest, with burial under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include one son, Ronnie Whatley of Alexandria; two brothers, James M. Coon of Trout and C.C. Coon of Nebo; three sisters, Effie Norris of Nebo, Charlotte Flaherty of Jena and Eudine Snipe of Ruston; and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Wayne Allen, Shane Smith and Martin Paul.
