Whatley Dies at Ferriday; Rites Held at Eden Walter L. Whatley, 59, who died suddenly at his home in Ferriday last Saturday morning of a heart attack, was buried Sunday afternoon at the Eden Methodist church cemetery near Trout, following services held at the Eden Methodist church. The Revs. Clarence Wiley, Jesse Norrie and Jerry Poston conducted the funeral services, with interment under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Home for Funerals, Jena. Mr. Whatley, who had resided at Ferriday for the past five years, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Francis Whatley; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Lee Harris, Mrs. Mary Ellen Harris and Mrs. Nanny Adams, all of Jonesville; two sons, J.D. Whatley of Jonesville and Johnnie Ray Whatley of Ferriday; a brother, Enoch Whatley of Pollock; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Jackson of Jena and Mrs. Lille Eskew of Pollock, and 16 grandchildren.
