He was a retired tractor operator in the logging industry, a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services. He was born June 6, 1916, at Eva to the union of David and Olive Boles Young. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Byron Norris officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery of Rogers under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena. Survivors include two sisters, Viola Lauderdale of Houston, Tx., and Mary Hebron of Jena; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Joe Davis, Robert Spence, matthew Spence, Dexter Hebron, Douglas Norris, and Chris Hebron.
