Young, 81, a lifelong resident of Jonesville, died Friday, January 15, 1999 in Alexandria. He was retire owner of Young's Grocery and Western Auto Store in Jonesville and a former town alderman. A member of United Methodist Church of Jonesville, Young was born Dec. 19, 1917, at Utility. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17, at First Baptist Church in Jonesville with Dr. Ralph Webber and Rev. Jimmie Pyles officiating. Eulogy was given by nephew Ernest L. Young, III. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery at Jena under direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville. Survivors include his wife, Hazel E. Young of Jonesville; two sons, Kenneth D. Young of Vidalia and Dr. H. T. Young, Jr. of Denham Springs; three brothers, E. Lee Young of Ruston, Dayton B. Young of Jonesville and Richard D. Young of Farmerville; two sisters, Effie Carter of Arcadia and Myrtle Bartmess of Jonesville; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Carter, Bill Vosberg, John Young, Thomas Young, John Zuccaro, Richard Young, Jr., Eric Stampley, and Bob Edwards. Honorary pallbearers were Ernest lee Young, Woody Davis, Wedon Smith, Dick Dagget, Roy Riley, Lloyd Trisler, and Jack Lawless.
