He was born January 30, 1980 at Cherry Point Naval Hospital, one of two children born to the marriage of Schandos Freeman and Dora Kay Henderson Young. Marty was raised by Marine Corps parents statioined through the country. He graduated from El Campo High School with the class of 1998 here he lettered in band and was active in Drama through lighting and soutnd. James attended Wharton Junior College where he studied automotive mechanics. He worked as a welder for Pierce Construction. Marty fell in love and married Lucy DeLane Peavy and together, they started a family with the addition of Aaron James "A. J." He was a loving husband and strong father. Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 11, at the chapel of Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas, with the Revs. Charles Brown and Buddy Briggs officiating. Interment followed in the Walnut Springs Cemetery near Carthage under direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Edward Y oung; and grandparents, Barbara Louise and Billie Jeff Henderson. Survivors include his wife, Lucy Peavy Young and son, Aaron James "A.J." Young, both of Beckville; his mother, Dora Young Luff and husband J. W. of Mesquite; his father, Schandos "Sandy" Young of Floresville; grandfather, Schandos "Sandy" Young of Floresville; grandfather, Roy A. Young of West Virginia; and his extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins from Jena and LaSalle Parish. Pallbearers were Jim Peavy, Jack Peavy, J. W. Date: July 31, 1964 Headline: Sister Of Olla Resident Succumbs Mrs. Sarah Young, 78, a resident of Winnsboro, died Thursday, July 23 at a rest home in Winnsboro after a long illness. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, July 24 from the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro with the Rev. Joe Mongle and the Rev. J. A. Hawthorne officiating. Burial was in the Chase cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Stuckey of Winnsboro; one son, Bill Young of Winnsboro; one brother, Louis Taylor of Olla; a half brother, John Taylor of Clarks; a half-sister, Mrs. Jack McDonald of Kelly.
