This photo was taken about 1911 at the old Roberts Homeplace in Jena,
LaSalle Parish, LA, on Roberts Hill. A front porch was in the process of
being built on the new home. This is the house in which Thomas J. Roberts
and his wife Maggie, were living when they died. Henry and Davie Roberts
moved into the house about 1919. They lived there until their death. Henry
died in 1931 at age 60 and Davie died in 1963 at age 81. This house and 3
acres became the property of Addie Roberts Doughty as her share of the H.D.
Roberts Estate. It was sold to her daughter & son-in-law, Ruth & Aubrey Paul
about 1965. The old house was then torn down and a new brick house was
built. Identification of family members was made by Bobbie Roberts Bullock
and verified by Hazel Tillery Meadows and Lorena Roberts ezell in 1997. The
original photo is in possession of Bobbie Bullock of Jena, La. Pat Ezell of
San Antonio arranged for photographer, Charles Boyd of Trout, LA to make a
copy of the photo. He retained the negative for future reproductions. The
