John Coleman King, born Dec. 1, 1886, died Nov. 24, 1924. Interned in Nolley Memorial Cemetery in Jena, La. John's 1st marriage was to Grace T. Sledges. She died Oct. 15, 1918. Two of their children, Dorothy and James King died Christmas Eve 1921 in a car left running when it got stuck. John left to get help and when he returned the fumes from the running engine had put them to sleep. His mother Nancy Cassandra Coleman King was also in the car. They were on their way from Winnfield to Jena when this happened.
