STONE - CATAHOULA PARISH, LA - 23 January 1855 Petition To the Honorable Judge of the 11th Judicial District of the State of Louisiana holding Court in and for the Parish of Catahoula -- The petition of Elias Carter Tutor to Elias C. Stone minor heir of Samuel P. Stone dec'd with due respect represents that said Samuel P. Stone died in your said Parish during the past year leaving an estate therein the property of which as he believes does not equal five hundred dollars, that as tutor to said minor it becomes his duty to settle the Tutorship of Stone contradictorily with some representatives of his Stone's Estate. That the Estate of Stone is so small & so much in debt that he has found no one willing to assume its administration, Wherefore he prays that the same may be assumed by the Clerk of your said Court that an inventory be made & for general relief-- O. Mayo, atty-- Order It is order that an inventory be made and in conformancy with the prayer of the foregoing petition, I have and do hereby assume the administration of the Estate of Samuel P. Stone, Done and Signed this 23rd day of January, 1855. C.C. Duke, Clk Transcribed from the Catahoula Parish Succession Book By Pat Ezell, PatEzell@worldnet.att.net
