He married Mary HARRISON [16], born 27 Jun 1832 in Georgia; buried 17 Aug 1912 in Pine Grove Cemetary, daughter of John HARRISON [143]. Notes for James Samuel SKINNER (Sr.): In 1880 census found Fredrick age 48 living with Samuel Skinner and wife Mary. Listed as brother. He has been in the 1850,1860,1870 census but spelled as Fredie in 1860. His age checks out and must have been born in 1832. Also found John Harrison listed as father in law. must be Mary's father. He was 71 years old. Born in 1809? Samuel Skinner is buried in Pine Grove cem. close to Hilly La. In 1856 Samuel bought 79 acres of land from the U.S. Gov.The land grant was paid in full in Monroe La. and is numbered 15208. Recorded in book 27, page 291. Sale of Public Lands of 1920, Signed by Pres. Franklin Pierce. Children of James Samuel SKINNER (Sr.) and Mary HARRISON were as follows: i John Wesley SKINNER [11], born 30 Sep 1855 in La.; died 13 Feb 1926 in Vienna La; buried in Vienna La.. John Wesley's old home place was located on Wafer road west of Vienna La. on the left side of the road. Nothing remains. Take hwy 146 west from Vienna a few miles to 283 and turn left. Wafer road is about two miles and will be on the right. Inf. son of J.W and M. L. Skinner, no name found in Vienna cem. dated 10 Sept. 1901. ii James S. SKINNER JR [50], born 1857; died 1884; buried in Pine Grove Cemetary. Janes and his wife (Sally E.) are buried in Pine Grove cemetary, close to Samuel Skinner and his wife Mary M. Skinner.Found hin and his wife in 1880 census.They had a daug. aged 1 and a half years old. All they had for her was M.L. Maybe Mary Lou.? Her name is Mary Luvella. All they had for his wife was S. His wife we know is Sarah E. Cargill iii Emma E. SKINNER [35], born 1863. iv Elizabeth M. SKINNER [99], born 23 Jan 1867; died 15 Mar 1932. V Lill ? SKINNER [100], born 1868. vi Ada SKINNER [101], born 1871. vii Wiley T. SKINNER [48], born 22 May 1874; died 7 Apr 1949; buried in Pine Grove Cemetary. Pine Grove Cemetary is located on Hwy 822 just south of Hilley, La. Take Hwy 146 at Vienna, La. west a few miles to Hwy 822 and turn right and it will be on the left side of the road. Just a little way. His grave is with his mother and father side by side. Samuel Skinner and Mary (Harrison)Skinner. Ever one called him "Bud". Mrs Nelwin "Cargil" Hines said that she know him well and that he would walk to the Store at the cross roads of 563 and 544 almost ever Saturday. The store was owned by Chester and Kate"Nobles" Trussell. Bud lived with his father and lived with Alice Lee :Skinner" Hines after his father died in 1907. viii Alice Lee SKINNER [102], born 14 Mar 1877; died 29 Sep 1964; buried in Pine Grove Cem. "Polly" Skinner ,wife to Wiley Skinner of Hilley La. told me that she knew Aunt Alice very well and that she lived with her father after her husband died. She had three children and one of them was called Skeeter. Her husband was named Hines. Generation 2 2. Mary2 SKINNER [139], born 1787 in Georgia She married unknown. Found Fredrick 1850 cenus as son of Mary Skinner. Age 19. Samuel was also listed as her son. Age 23. In 1860 census he was living with Samuel his borther who had married Mary Harrison. He was still with them in 1870 and 1880 although spelled as Fredie. iv Mary1 SKINNER [142], born 1832.
