The road, previously mentioned as Rarish Rd., is now called Rabb Rd. and is clearly marked. This road is a parish road, but the parish sign can not be seen from the highway and is full of bullet holes. There are 2 historical markers beside the highway, one for the cemetery and another about a preacher and the very first Baptist church in the area. Turn right on Rabb Rd. and follow for about a mile. There is no longer a sign pointing the way to the cemetery as was previously mentioned. You will need to stop just before you get to the new subdivision, Shenandoah, which is on the north side of the road. There is a dirt road on the south side of the road (gated and locked) and a trail through the woods just to the right of it. In order to get to the Old Colvin Cemetery, you must follow this trail for about a half mile (on foot). This trail is interrupted by a red clay clearing, but continues to the south and can easily be seen. The trail curves around a bit, but will eventually end at another clearing for a pipeline. Turn to the right (west) on the pipeline. Keep going for perhaps fifty yards and look out into the woods on your left (south). You will be able to see a chainlink fence through the trees. Currently, there is a deer-stand on the pipeline. If it is still there, the path to the grave-site is just past it.--Elissa Mobley Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by George Park - georgepark@aol.com For name searches of this index, use the "Find" or "Search" feature of your browser. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel Colvin, consort of Sacred to the Memory of Susan Co1vin, E1iza A. wife of Died March 24, 1850 John Huey, Jr. about 73 years old Born April 12, 1818 Died September 15, 1858 Susan, consort of Age 40 years, 5 months and 3 days Daniel Colvin departed this kin Sept. 27,1840 Mary Ann, daughter of about 42 years Jeptha and Narcissa Colvin May 26, 1831 Sarah, consort of Sept. 26, 1838 John Johnson, Sept. 2, 1824, 24 years old Sarah Ann, dau. of Jeptha and Narcissa Colvin May 27, 1836 March 26, 1838 2 years Amanda, wife of W.D.
