All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ************************************************ ACT OF ADOPTION - MARCH, 1887 John Brown Hennen and Wife Ophelia Hennen Be it known that on the 2nd day of March, 1887 a judgement was rendered and signed in 3rd district court for Lincoln Parish, La. authorizing, enduring and directing that Virgil Hennen and William Larkin Hennen minor be adopted and authorizing John B. Hennen residents of Lincoln Parish, La. to adopt these minors as their children. On said date just proceeding said judgement; a judgement of said court was rendered and signed in open court giving to these minors by their own selection and choice the names first above stated to wit: that of Virgil Hennen and William Larkin Hennen changing their names which at that time was Virgil Anderson and William Larkin Anderson. And the judgement first above mentioned authorize and directed me J. M. Williams C.D.C. Ex Officiis accorder of Notary Public for and within Lincoln Parish Louisiana to pass the act adopting the minors Virgil Hennen and William Larkin Hennen as the children of John B. Hennen and Ophelia Hennen and on this date August 27, 1887 John B. Hennen and his wife Ophelia Hennen appeared before me said officer, and by these presence acknowledge and declare that they fully accept the terms of said judgement authorizing them to adopt said minors Virgil Hennen and William Larkin Hennen and do by this act - and by these presence accept - and adopt said minors as their children giving to them and each of them the right of a legitimate child and with all rights and privileges said minors and each would or could have had if they had been the children of said John B. Hennen and his wife Ophelia Hennen and as if these minors had been born of their marriage, and John B. Hennen and his wife Ophelia Hennen do by this act - constitute these minors Virgil Hennen and William Larkin Hennen their heirs-at- law as perfectly and fully as if these minors were their own born children. In faith whereof said John B. Hennen and his wife Ophelia Hennen in the presence of the undersigned legal and competent witness sign hereto and I said officer sign hereto officially all done and signed on this 27th day August 1887.
