Last Will and Testament of James Trice Mizelle, January 21, 1895

State of Louisiana, Parish of Lincoln}
     I, James Trice Mizelle a resident of Lincoln Parish in the State of Louisiana,
reminded of the uncertainty of life and being of sound and disposing mind, do ordain
this my last will and testament.
   First. I will that my body be decently buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, the expense
of same to be taken out of my effects. Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved
nieces, Martha Ann Cox and Sarah P. Couch (nee Cox) all lands possessed by me, that
may be left after all my indebtedness shall have been settled said lands so left to
be equally divided between them, also farming utensils, horses and stock of every
discription also, all of the household and kithen (sic) furniture and all notes and
accounts due me, and all other property I own or possess of whatever discription.
Finally, I appoint M. V. Pruitt to be Executor of this my last will and testament. In
witness whereof I have caused this will to be written (??) and read aloud in the
presence of me and the under signed witnesses, this the 21st day of January A.D.
1895. declaring the same to be my last will and testament, Thus done and signed in
the Parish and on the day afore said.

Genealogical note: James Trice Mizelle, born ca 1819 & died Feb. 1, 1895, was the son
of Joel Mizelle and Sarah Trice.
