GILBERT being No on the docket of said court. did seize upon the following described property to wit; The southeast quarter of section twelve in township seventeen of range one west, and the north half of the north east quarter of section thirteen(13) in township seventeen range one west, situated in the said Parish of Jackson together with all the improvements and app thereto attached on or belonging thereto or in-anyway belonging thereto, and after having the same day advertised for more than thirty days, previous to the first Saturday of February A.D. Eighteen Hundred & forty nine, it being the first Saturday of said month to be sold, at the residence of the defendant E.W. GILBERT in said Parish and after having the property duly appraised, by legal and competent appraisers and reading in an audible voice the certificate of mortgages furnished by the recorder of said Parish, and otherwise give all legal notice, that the purchaser took the property subject to all liens and mortgages and hypothecations and duly proclaiming the sale and terms thereof and reading from the advertisement a description of the property. I offered the property as aforesaid for sale when Mrs. Elizabeth GILBERT Elizabeth SIMS (should read SIMMONS) the plaintiff in execution became the purchaser thereof by bidding for the same the sum of six hundred dollars that being the highest bid, and having ordered the same to be credited on the fi, fa above described which has been done. Now thereof I the sheriff by virtue of the authority vested in me as sheriff aforesaid, do hereby and by these present transfer set over, sell, adjudicate, and deliver unto the said Elizabeth SIMMONS her heirs and assigns forever, all the right title, interest, and claim in and to the above described premises and tract or parcel of land together with all the improvements thereon, or thereto belonging or any-wise appertaining thereto and hereby subrogate the said purchaser. SIMMONS and his and his wife's favor for the sum of $239.00 with 5% interest from date of judgement. Said judgement was rendered in Third District Court for Lincoln Parish LA. A copy thereof was duly recorded in Mortgage Record H page 339. And declares that in order to make a payment of his said wife on said judgement he does hereby convey, transfer and deliver to her with full warranty of this title the following property and of the following prices. One yoke steer names Jesse & Buck for $35.00 One cow 'Princess' and her calf $20.00 One cow 'Jersey' $20.00 Cotton ungathered $30.00 House hold and kitchen furniture $30.00 3 hogs $5.00 Total $150.00 She is to have the entire ownership, control and management of this property. And at the same time also appeared Mrs. Susan A. C.
