                           Ruston, LA

 CHOUDRANT, LA - Services for Prentice D. Ambrose, age 71, of Choudrant, LA,
will be 2 PM Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev.  Raymond Crofoot officiating.  Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery
under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

 Mr. Ambrose died Monday, August 23, 1999 at his residence following a brief
illness.

 Mr. Ambrose was a member of Douglas United Methodist Church and a Veteran of
the U. S. Navy.

     Survivors include his wife of 52 years: Louise "Lucy" Ambrose of
Choudrant, LA; two sons: David Ambrose and wife Helen of Choudrant, LA and
Jake Ambrose and wife Donna of Ruston, LA; four grandchildren: David Ambrose,
Jr. and wife Heather of Dallas, TX, Andy Ambrose of Ruston, LA, Christy
Ambrose of Choudrant, LA and Marian McElduff of Ruston, LA; three great
grandchildren: Brittany Welch of Ruston, LA, Taylor Posey of Ruston, LA and
Lacey Courier New; McElduff of Ruston, LA; brother-in-law: Billy Shields of
Ruston, LA; sister-in-law: Mary Ambrose of Ruston, LA; and a host of nieces,
nephews and friends.

     Pallbearers will be Davy Ambrose, Andy Ambrose, Chad Posey, Gary Shields,
Jack Ambrose, Chip Brooks, Billy Lann Calhoun and Clayton Elliott.
