Ken Klemme and Troy Garrett officiating. Burial followed in Wesley Chapel under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mrs. Atkins died Wednesday, November 3,1999, at Longleaf Care Cen- ter. Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by her parents; Sam & Selma Ziegler Goss, husband, C. E. Atkins; three brothers, Bill, Dick, and Wilbur Goss; one grandaughter; and one great grandaughter. She attended school at Elmore Elementary in Clay, and graduated from Ansley High School in 1932. On October 22, 1934, she was married to Ollie Elvin Atkins in Jack- son Parish.She was a lifelong member of Clay United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Carl Atkins and Don Atkins of Clay; a daughter, Peggy A. Worley of Clay; a brother, R. L. Goss of Ruston; three sisters, Joyce Colvin of Ruston, Juanita Prohn of Witchita, Kansas; and Martha Richards of Ruston; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gary Boone, Greg Freeman, Robert Goss, Butch Haughton. John Kavanaugh, and Lloyd Webb.
