John McClelland, officiating. Interment will follow at Alabama Cemetery near Choudrant, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 E. 5th St., Homer on Friday from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Bagwell was born April 6, 1929 to Maggie Beatrice Thompson Denton and Wilson Cecil Denton in Bernice, LA. She entered into rest Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at her home following a short illness. Mrs. Bagwell was a graduate of Dubach High School, retired from the insurance business and was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Homer. . Mrs. Bagwell was preceded in death by her first husband, John Willard Shirey, one sister, Maggie Beth Denton Newman and a brother-in-law, Roi Edward Andrews. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Billy Joe Bagwell of Homer; two daughters, Theresa Lynn Bagwell Barnett and husband, Larry of Dubach and Marilyn Bagwell Griffin and husband Jimmy of West Monroe; five grandchildren, Jennifer Barnett, Allison Barnett, Jacob Griffin and wife Tamra, Joey Griffin and John Griffin; two sisters, Ann Andrews of Summerfield and Marjorie Huey and husband Randel of Decatur, MS; four brothers, Dan Denton and wife Barbara of Ruston, Don Denton and wife Sue of Quitman, Dave Denton and wife Donna of Dubach and Gary Denton and wife Margaret of Carterville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will be Kirk Andrews, Chris Denton, David Denton, Gary T. Denton, Jimmy Ormond and Tommy Ormond.
