                     Lorene Herring Batten
                               
Services for Lorene Herring Batten, 90, of Ruston, will be held
Tuesday, November 23, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. in the Northside Church of
Christ in Ruston.  Officiating will be Don Stevens.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn under the direction of Kilpatrick
Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mrs. Batten died November 21, 1999 in Ruston, after a brief
illness.She was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Ruston.

Survivors include her husband, Richard N.Batten of Ruston LA; one
daughter, Laverne Hollis Kirbow and husband Aron of Ruston; two
grandchildren, Steve Kirbow and wife Sue of Ruston, and Ken Kirbow
of Shreveport; one great grandson, Charlie Kirbow; two brothers,
Earl Herring and Aubrey Herring, both of Strong, Ark.; four step-
children, Amy Hollman, Jennifer Wilson, Danny Batten and Phillip
Batten.

Pallbearers will be Danny Batten, Phillip Batten, Phil Herring,
Johnny Herring, Thomas Garner, and James Harry Tugwell.

 Memorials may be made to Northside Church of Christ or the
American Cancer Society.

 Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, November 22, 1999 at the
church.
