The News-Star - October 1985 JOHN D. BODDIE BASTROP - John Duncan Boddie, 58, died Monday, October 21, 1985 at St. Francis Medical Center after a long illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Golden Funeral Home Chapel in Bastrop with the Rev. Ray Spiller officiating. Burial will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Bastrop He was a native of Ruston and had lived most of his life in Morehouse Parish. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bastrop, and was a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Navy and the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Adcock Boddie of Bastrop; two daughters, Mrs. Melanie Dew and Mrs. Melinda Jones, both of Bastrop; three brothers, Lonnie Boddie of West Monroe, and Willis Boddie of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Alesa Roe, Mrs. Emma Tyndall and Mrs. Lucille Collins, all of Shreveport; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
