MIXON CHANDLER Mr. Mixon Chandler, 83, a prominent figure and businessman in West Monroe and Ruston passed away, August 24, 1992 at his home in West Monroe. He was born near Ruston and educated in the Ruston schools where he was captain of the football team at Ruston High School. He attended Northeast College in Monroe and Marshall Texas Junior College on a football scholarship. He was in oil and gas exploration for a number of years in his early life, later establishing "Chandler's Water Well" in West Monroe where he continued in business for approximately three decades. He will be remembered by his family - four living sisters, many nieces, nephews and cousins and many, many friends and business acquaintances. He was interred beside his deceased wife of 47 years, Dorothy Tettleton of Farmerville. At the time of his death he was married to Jerry Cheatam.
