Choate Funeral services for Robert W. Choate, 53, of Simsboro will be held at 2 p.m. today at Memorial United Methodist Church in Simsboro with Rev. Ed Parks officiating, assisted by Rev. Stuart Sherman. Interment will be in Simsboro Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Choate died Friday, February 18, 2000 at Glenwood Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was the retired Chief of Police in Simsboro, member of the Simsboro Lions Club and member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Opal Choate of Simsboro; one sister, Betty Choate Kennedy and husband Walter D. of Simsboro; two nieces, Shannon Kennedy Blue of Ruston and Bridget Kennedy Wright of Simsboro; one great niece, Kaylee Marie Wright of Simsboro. Pallbearers will be Jerry Liner, Jimmy Liner, Tommy Houck, Greg Liner, Tim Liner and Chad Many.
