Rolly Walker officiating. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Cook died Sunday, January 16, 2000, in Ruston, La. Her career started as a home demonstration agent in Lincoln Parish, during which time she was kidnapped by Bonnie and Clyde. Later, she resumed her career as a home economics teacher at Ruston High School where she taught for over 4O years. Mrs. Cook was a member of the DAR, Kappa Delta Sorority, and Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Mansfield Female College and Normal College, which is now Northwestern University. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband W. H. Cook, Jr. Survivors include five nieces, Sue Lenard of Chicago, Ill.; Nonie Lucius of Shreveport, La.; Ellen Abbington of Many, La.; Susan Lewing of Shreveport, La.; and Mitzie Kilpatrick of Houston, Texas; five nephews, Dr. Hugh Lewing of Heber Springs, Ark,; 0. L. Stone, Jr. of Mansfield, La.; Rupert Lucius of Mansfield, La.; Guy Cook of New Orleans, La.; and Richard Cook of Fresno, California, a beloved great niece, Annie Mame Wise; and many other great nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2000 at the funeral home.
