Visitation will be at 1 PM until the beginning of the service. Officiating the services will be Dr. Mike Anderson. Wayne was born in Dubach, LA on August 16, 1928 to Jasper Lee Colvin and Lucille Ferguson Colvin and passed away on April 17, 2014 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Austin Colvin; his son, Gary Colvin; his grandson, Seth Colvin; his granddaughter, Molly Green; his brother, DeVonne Colvin; and his second wife, Dorothy Kelley Colvin. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Linda Colvin Green and husband Danny of Dubach; grandson, Austin Green of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Beverly Colvin Prather of Conroe, TX; step-son, David Culpepper of New Orleans, LA; step-son, Steve Culpepper of New Haven, CT; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne served in the army during the Korean War. After serving his country, he moved his family to Gretna, LA where he worked on the Southern Pacific Railroad for seventeen years before going to work for New York Life as an insurance salesman. Wayne moved back to Dubach to be near family in the early 70's and then spent most of his retirement years in Shreveport where he became an avid golfer. The highlight of his golfing years included making two holes-in-one. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the devoted staffs at Russ House, Alpine Guest Care and Gamble Hospice Care.
