N. Creed - 81 - Pioneer Settler Here - Passed Away Monday Mrs. Beatrice Creed, widow of the late W.N. (sic) Creed, passed away at her home at Dry Prong, La. at 11:30 o'clock last Monday, April 30th, at the age of 81 years. The deceased had been a resident of Grant Parish for the past half century, coming here from Lincoln Parish with her husband, the late Rev. W.N. (sic) Creed, a minister of the Baptist church. They were among the pioneer settlers of the Fairfield community, where they resided for many years. Later they moved to Dry Prong to make their home. Mr. Creed preceeded her to the Great Beyond nine years ago. Mrs. Creed is survived by five children, as follows: George L. Creed, Mrs. B.W. Baker and Alonze (sic) Creed, all of Pineville, La.; Mrs. Belle Mundy of Route 1, Colfax, La.; and W. Arthur Creed of Dry Prong, La. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, May 1, at 10 o'clock at the Dry Prong Cemetery, the religious rites of the Baptist church being conducted by Rev. Brakefield of Louisiana College (Pineville, La.). Interment was made in the Dry Prong cemetery.
