Dowling, 87, will be at 10 a.m.,Saturday, January 15, 2000, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel.Officiating will be Rev. Clarence Powell and Rev. Dale Oden. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Dowling died Monday, January 10, 2000, in Ruston after a lengthy illness. He was a longtime resident of Ruston and an accountant by profession. Mr. Dowling's service to Ruston spanned for over 25 years in the restaurant industry. He began his business with the ownership and operation of the Trenton Treat. He then owned and operated the Robert Louis Restaurant until his retirement. Mr. Dowling was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. His devotion and love for Jesus Christ his Lord was a witness to all in both his personal and professional life. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Edith Dowling of Ruston; daughters, Nancy Lee Babington and husband Jim of Annandale, N.J., and Jo Ann Hybel and husband Dan of Portland, Ore.; sons, James Robert Dowling of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Richard Lynn Dowling of Houston; five grandchildren, Bert Babington of Seattle,Wash., Jamie Babington of Annadale, N.J., Bobby Lee Dowling of College Station, Texas, Lori Marie Dowling of Houston, and Kimberly Hybel of Portland, Ore. Pallbearers will be Prentice Lee, Lundy Cavender, Glen Hunt, Joe Dickson, Bobby Dowling and Bert Babington. Visitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2000.
