Larry Sellers, officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 E. 5th St. on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Fussell was born Jan. 11, 1930 in Dubach to John Elvis Hammons and Blanche Colvin Hammons. She entered into rest Friday, Jan. 25th at Homer Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Fussell was an English Teacher and Guidance Counselor in the Plaquemine school systems in Iberville Parish with over 30 years of service. After retiring on Lake Claiborne in Claiborne parish, she worked at the library in Homer. She and her husband were members of the Rocky Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Neil Fussell; one son, John Fussell and wife, Jamie of Homer; one brother, Stephen Hammons and wife, Velma of Ruston; two grandchildren, Sara Fussell of Homer and Lindsey Tanner and husband, Ken of Lisbon; one great-grandchild, Avery Tanner. Pallbearers will be Jerry Clements, James Edward Scriber, Floyd Burns, Wayne Tanner, Ken Tanner and Tommy Gaston. For friends considering memorials honoring Mrs. Fussell, her family suggests the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
