The Ruston Daily Leader Newspaper Ruston, LA Tuesday, March 5, 1946 "Funeral Services Held Here Monday for Mrs. Gaines" Funeral services for Mrs. Obera Cutrer Gaines, 68, who died on March 2, after a long illness, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the McLure Funeral Chapel. Rev. C. S. Cadwallader, pastor of the First Baptist Church, conducted the services, and interment was in the Wilder cemetery. Pallbearers were: David Cook, Johnnie Lindsay, Ed Aswell, J. Graham, Allen Shaeffer and Lee Richardson. Mrs. Gaines was born in Tangipahoa parish, and was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Cutrer. Her early life was spent in Osyka, Miss. She joined the Osyka Baptist church while quite young and has been affiliated with the First Baptist church since she has been in Ruston. She was married to Mr. W. T. Gaines of Ruston on July 6, 1914, and had lived in Ruston since that time. Mrs. Gaines is survived by her husband; two brothers, H. E. Cutrer of Bogalusa, La., and R. T. Cutrer of Osyka, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Willard Mooney of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mrs. Lucille Ates of Little Rock, Ark., and several step-children.
