Interment was in Epps Cem-etery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi, LA. Mrs. Gilmore died March 24, 2000 in the Richland Parish hos-pital in Delhi, LA. Mrs. Gilmore was born in Weston, LA to Dr. Neal Dwight Smith and Leam Oxford Smith. She married Clarence W. Gilmore on February 11, 1928 in Jonesboro, LA. She was a retired high school math teacher and homemaker. She was a member of the Epps Baptist Church, a 1925 graduate of Weston High School and a 1930 graduate of La. Tech University. She taught high school math for 33 years, 27 of them at Epps High School. She and Mr. C. W. cel-ebrated 72 faithful years together in February of this year. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gordon Smith and Joe Smith, and a sis-ter, Helen Moore. Survivors include her hus-band, Clarence W. Gilmore of Epps, LA; a son and daughter-in--law Joe William and Jo Ann Gilmore of Ruston, LA; a daughter and son-in-law, Sibyl Ann and William G. Leach of New Orleans, LA; one brother, N. D. Smith of Weston, LA; one sister, Ruth Strain of Delhi, LA; five grand-children and six great grandchil-dren. Pallbearers were Bobby Cleve-land, Inmon Powell, Virgil Johnson, Frank White, Douglas Fairchild and Dennis Labatt. Honorary pallbearer was C. E. Corley. Any planned memorials may be made to the Epps Baptist Church.
