Douglas Hicks officiating, assisted by Steve Hicks. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. He died Oct. 16 in Ruston following a sudden illness. Mr. Hicks was a member of Simsboro Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Hicks, and son Howard Hicks. Survivors include three daughters, Ester Hood and Nellie Dumas, both of Dubach, and Maudie Audirsch and husband Sonny of Choudrant; five sons, Arvie Hicks and wife Dorothy of Simsboro; J. C. Hicks and wife Emma of Ruston; Robert Ray Hicks of Greenwood, La; Johnny Hicks and wife Mary of Palestine, Texas; and Douglas Hicks and wife Diana of Kingsville, Texas; two sisters, Sally Mae Boyett of Akron, Ohio; and Ledie McLaughin of Minden; 42 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Great-grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
