VIOLET B. HOOD RUSTON - Services for Mrs. Violet B. Hood, 64, of Ruston will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 1987 at the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston with Rev. Kim Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mrs. Hood died Tuesday, June 9, 1987 at the Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston following a lengthy illness. She was a native of El Dorado, Arkansas, a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, Owner and Operator of Hoods Restaurant of Ruston for the past 25 years and is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Sterling Wesley Hood, born July 15, 1915 died November 24, 1962. Survivors include three daughters: Ann Hood McKnight of Shreveport, Nan Hood Lynch of New Orleans and Brenda Hood Steward of Ruston; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Wood of El Dorado, Arkansas, Mrs. Maxine Bryant of Shreveport, and Mrs. Gracie Jones of El Dorado, Arkansas; a brother: Dr. E. O. Ballard of El Dorado, Arkansas and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home and Thursday morning until service time.
