ROXIE ANN BROOKS HUGHES RUSTON, LA. - Services for Mrs. Roxie Ann Brooks Hughes, 56, of Ruston were held at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 1992 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, with Rev. O. W. Lynch and Rev. Walter Parr officiating. Burial was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, near Ruston, La. Mrs. Hughes died Friday, February 7, 1992 at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston, after a brief illness. Mrs. Hughes was born on December 21, 1935 in Ruston, Louisiana. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as Sunday School teacher for many years; She also served on the administrative board of the church and held various other positions. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Organization. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Brooks who was born on December 14, 1915 and died on July 14, 1984 Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Ruston. Survivors include her husband Willie B. Hughes, Sr. of Ruston; mother, Ola (Voree Hinton) Brooks of Ruston; daughter, Sharon "Susie" Hughes of Ruston; son, Willie B. "Billy" Hughes, Jr. of Ruston; sister, Peggy Grigsby of Ruston; brother, James Brooks of Ruston; three grandchildren, Jamie Hughes, Christopher Hughes, and Amanda Hughes, and several nieces and nephews.
