Mrs. Kate Jones, Ruston Resident, Rites Saturday

Mrs. Kate Jones, 83, of Ruston died Thursday night, July 9, 1970 in the
Extended Care Unit of Lincoln General Hospital.

She was employed for many years by the W. E. Upchurch Grocery here and
she was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church.

Her husband, who died in an accident several years ago, was a farmer.

Funeral services are tentatively set for 11 a.m. Saturday in the Spears
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Douglas McGuire officiating. Burial
will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Prentis B. Tomlinson of
Shreveport; Mrs. Emmett B. Hall of Valparaiso, Florida; four sisters:
Mrs. Bill Edwards and Mrs. George Wafer both of Ruston, Mrs. Finis Goree
of Haynesville and Mrs. John Raspberry of West Monroe; three
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
