"PEARL" KAVANAUGH Mrs. J. A. Kavanaugh of Clay died suddenly at her home about 9 a.m. Friday, February 13, 1953. She was 75 years old (born June 25, 1877) Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 1953 with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston. Mrs. Kavanaugh was a lifelong resident of Clay. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Kavanaugh born June 10, 1875, died September 27, 1929, and an infant daughter born April 29, 1901, died April 29, 1901. Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. George S. "Lodie" Brown of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Prentiss "Edna" Willis, Mrs. William "Kathleen" Rockhold, and Mrs. Edward Oliver "Linda Jean" Rolf all of Clay, La.; three sons: Newton Howard Kavanaugh of Clay, La., James Vardaman Kavanaugh of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Morton John Kavanaugh, Sr. of Ruston, Louisiana.
